This is my absolute favorite manatee of all time. I named her “Sweetie'“ for how sweet she was, following me around for 4 hours, mimicking my movements, rolling over and over and over, throwing herself on her back multiple times as if to say…..”did you take the picture? “ “Take this one too”.
I saw her on two different occasions and she remembered me and followed me both times for a couple hours. After about a year and a half of not seeing her, I found her at a different spring in Ocala this time with a baby in tow, my heart melted. She has a comma shaped scar on her back and a slit at the base of her tail on one side, that is how I knew it was her.
